   I learned from my Chinese teacher that “to rain” is “下雨.” Can I say “下雪,下霜,下雷?”

   Xia yu, and xia xue are correct. Also, I remember that it should be “da lei,” not “xia lei.” However, I don’t know what verb should be used before “shuang.”

   What are the Chinese characters for “sugar” and “salt?” Can the Chinese teachers answer this question in the subsequent lessons?

   “sugar”is糖.”salt”is盐.
   And “下霜”is correct in spoken language.
   Chinese may use”霜冻”as a verb.
